Je hebt de bevestiging per brief gekregen dat je de beschikking krijgt over een persoonlijke-assistentie budget. Nu zijn er een aantal zaken die je binnen de vier maanden moet regelen, zodat je het budget goed kunt opstarten. Eén van de eerste overwegingen is welke ondersteuningsvorm je wilt.
Een eerste vraag is welke vorm van ondersteuning je wilt hebben en nodig is. Je kunt met een persoonlijke-assistentiebudget meerdere assistenten in dienst nemen om de assistentie voor je kind thuis of op school te organiseren en te financieren en/of je kunt kortdurende ondersteuning aankopen.
Persoonlijke assistenten
De persoonlijke assistenten kunnen helpen bij:
- lichamelijke taken (bijvoorbeeld wassen, aankleden, eten)
- verplaatsingen (bijvoorbeeld naar school gaan)
- dagactiviteiten (bijvoorbeeld uitstappen)
- het aanvaarden van en omgang met de handicap, zelfredzaamheid, assertiviteit, opbouw van een sociaal netwerk, toekomstplanning ...
Wie kan persoonlijk assistent zijn?
Een persoonlijk assistent kan iemand uit je eigen netwerk zijn, zoals een ouder, broer, zus of iemand die je kent. Je kunt zelf een assistent zoeken via een advertentie op Facebook of de website van de VDAB. Het is ook mogelijk een dienst in te schakelen die zelf assistenten levert. Je koopt dan als het ware zorg in. De dienst zorgt ervoor dat je een geschikte assistent krijgt en neemt veel administratie over. Daarnaast is een uitzendbureau (interimkantoor) een optie voor zowel het zoeken van een assistent als het zelf aanbrengen van een assistent die je dan via dit kantoor in dienst neemt.
Het is ook mogelijk om een vrijwilliger in te schakelen als persoonlijk assistent, die je vindt in je eigen netwerk of die je via een dienst aannneemt. Als je kiest voor mensen uit je eigen netwerk is het belangrijk je aan te sluiten bij een vrijwilligersorganisatie, zodat je wel voldoet aan de wettelijke bepalingen. Een deeleconomieplatform kan hierbij helpen.
Kortdurende ondersteuning
Kortdurende ondersteuning inkopen kan via:
- kortdurend verblijf in een multifunctioneel centrum
- kortdurende dag- of woonondersteuning bij een vergunde zorgaanbieder
- kortdurende dagondersteuning in een geregistreerd groenezorginitiatief
- kortdurende dagondersteuning of kortdurend verblijf in een ouderinitiatief
Van deze ondersteuning kun je maximaal 92 dagen gebruik maken per kalenderjaar.
- kortdurende mobiele (komt bij je thuis) en/of ambulante (je verplaatst je naar de dienst) begeleiding bij een vergunde zorgaanbieder (met inbegrip van multifunctioneel centrum).
Deze 1-op-1-ondersteuning kan gekocht worden tot een maximum van 36 mobiele begeleidingen of 51 ambulante begeleidingen per kalenderjaar.
