Het zorgbudget voor mensen met een handicap (vroegere BOB) verdwijnt uit de Vlaamse Sociale Bescherming en wordt toegevoegd aan het Groeipakket. Lees verder voor meer uitleg.
Via de zorgkas van je ziekenfonds kon je tot nu toe in aanmerking komen voor het zorgbudget voor mensen met een handicap, ook wel Basisondersteuningsbudget (BOB) genoemd. Het gaat om een bedrag van 300 euro per maand.
Vanaf 1 januari 2023 wordt dit zorgbudget toegevoegd aan het Groeipakket en verandert de naam in ondersteuningstoeslag. De ondersteuningstoeslag vervangt dus het huidige zorgbudget voor mensen met een handicap (BOB). Het verdwijnt uit de Vlaamse Sociale Bescherming en gaat in plaats daarvan deel uitmaken van het Groeipakket.
Wie heeft er recht op:
- Kinderen en jongvolwassenen met minstens 12 punten op de schaal voor de zorgtoeslag voor kinderen met een specifieke ondersteuningsbehoefte (ofwel de verhoogde kinderbijslag);
- Kinderen en jongeren die niet worden ondersteund door een multifunctioneel centrum (MFC) via niet-rechtstreeks toegankelijke hulp;
- Kinderen en jongeren die geen Persoonlijke-assistentie Budget krijgen.
De uitbetaler van het Groeipakket bekijkt of je recht hebt en zo ja, wordt de toeslag automatisch toegekend door je uitbetaler Groeipakket.
Vanaf 1 januari 2023 bedraagt de ondersteuningstoeslag 324 euro per maand vanwege de zeer welkome indexering.

Wie blijft het zorgbudget wel ontvangen via de zorgkas?
Maakte je eerder al vrijwillig de overstap vanuit de niet-rechtstreeks toegankelijke hulp naar het zorgbudget voor mensen met een handicap, dan blijf je dit ontvangen via de zorgkas. Deze kinderen of jongeren kunnen, naast het zorgbudget (BOB), geen ondersteuningstoeslag krijgen. Deze vrijwillige overstap is nog mogelijk tot en met 31 december 2022, vanaf 1 januari verdwijnt deze mogelijkheid, omdat het de wens is van de Vlaamse Regering om het zorgbudget voor mensen met een handicap uitdovend te maken.
Kreeg je het zorgbudget voor mensen met een handicap al toegekend op basis van een integratietegemoetkoming van minstens 12 punten, dan blijf je dit ontvangen via de zorgkas.
