Geen vaccin voor mensen in dagcentra

Ouders zijn teleurgesteld: 'Hoelang moeten we onze zoon (44) nog thuis houden?'
 

STAN krijgt meer en meer berichten van ongeruste ouders wiens zoon of dochter naar een dagcentrum gaat. Hun kind wordt, in tegenstelling tot het personeel en de mensen die ook in de voorziening blijven overnachten, niet gevaccineerd.

"Ook wij, als ouders van een zoon van 44 met het syndroom van Down, 72 en 73 jaar oud zijn enorm teleurgesteld", getuigen twee ouders*, "De vaccinatie in de instelling waar B. naartoe gaat in betere tijden heeft intussen plaatsgevonden voor de inwonenden en het personeel. Met pijn in ons hart zijn we blij voor hen maar vinden het heel erg dat die kleine groep dagcentrum cliënten niet meegenomen is.
Hoelang moeten we onze zoon nog thuishouden?
Hij is na de 2de golf terug thuis gebleven omdat we het niet aandurven om besmetting, ook naar ons toe, te vermijden. Jammer dat er niet massaal tegen geprotesteerd wordt, maar we zijn een groep ‘enkelingen’ waar geen rekening mee gehouden wordt.
We worden nogmaals ‘gestraft’ omdat we zelf onze zoon/dochter opvangen, gezien de wachtlijsten die er zijn voor opvang etc.
Ik lig er wakker van en wil graag mijn vaccin voor hem afstaan zodat B. beschermd kan terug gaan werken, hij kijkt daar enorm naar uit.
Maar dat zal waarschijnlijk niet mogelijk zijn."
