Omdat we willen nadenken over hoe we de belangen van personen met een handicap kunnen omzetten in gedeelde keuzes, organiseren STAN, Zoom en Fovig, drie organisaties die zich inzetten voor een #beterlevenmeteenhandicap, een Denkdag rond welbevinden en bescherming bij handicap.
De Denkdag, die plaats vindt in het Vormingscentrum Guislain in Gent, is bedoeld voor personen met een beperking, hun ouders en netwerk, maar ook voor professionals en experts in de handicapsector en op het gebied van bewindvoering.
De dag start om 10 uur en eindigt om 17 u.
In de voormiddag zullen professionals en ervaringsdeskundigen vanuit verschillende invalshoeken met elkaar in gesprek treden.
De lunch zal verzorgd worden door Bits N Bites, een bistro en cateringbedrijf uit Kontich die werken met personeel met een verstandelijke beperking.
In de namiddag is er uitgebreid de ruimte om in kleinere groepen ervaringen te delen en te spreken over hoe beschermingsmaatregelen er in de praktijk uitzien. (Lees verder onder de affiche)
Sprekers
De presentatie wordt verzorgd door theatermaker Sander Deckx. Hij studeerde dit jaar af aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen met een master in de woordkunst. In zijn voorstelling ‘Zonderzeeër’ zette hij het publiek vanuit zijn persoonlijke ervaring aan het denken over hoe inclusie mogelijk is, wanneer je als persoon met een handicap niet op kan gaan in de massa.
Luc Goutry zal vanuit zijn rol als initiatiefnemer van de Wet op de Bewindvoering (ook wel de Wet Goutry) vertellen over de bedoelingen van de wetgever en de praktijk zoals hij die ziet.
Ervaringsdeskundige Frauke Cosaert zal spreken over de ethische overwegingen rond gedeelde keuzes en het belang van de personen met een handicap. Eerder schreef zij het boek ‘Zorgenmeisje’, over haar dochter Marie, die mentaal beperkt is en autisme heeft.
Vrederechter Helen Vanden Berghe vertelt vanuit haar omgang met familiale én professionele bewindvoerders over hoe zij beschermingsmaatregelen inzet voor het welzijn van de persoon met handicap.
Er komen ook meerdere ervaringsdeskundigen aan het woord die een keuze maakten voor professionele of familiale bewindvoering, of de keuze maakten om (nog) geen bewindvoering aan te stellen:
Kathleen Van Wynsberghe en haar dochter Maud Ysebaert (Maud nam in 2019 deel aan de tweede editie van Down The Road, is fotografe en werkt bij UZA als vrijwilliger) beslissen in groot vertrouwen samen. Zij hebben er tot nu toe voor gekozen om geen juridisch beschermingsstatuut te gebruiken
De prijs voor deze Denkdag (inclusief lunch) bedraagt:
- Ledentarief van 15 euro voor leden van Fovig, STAN en Zoom
- Voordeeltarief van 25 euro voor mensen met een handicap en hun vertegenwoordiger(s) en voor studenten
- Standaardtarief van 50 euro
