Luc C. Martens heeft een zus (66 jaar) met een verstandelijke beperking. In het boekje 'Twee uur per maand kom ik van je houden', bundelde hij enkele gedichten die hij voor haar schreef.
"Mijn zus heeft een verstandelijke beperking type 2.", aldus auteur Luc. C. Martens, "Dit als gevolg van een hersenvliesontsteking dat op zijn beurt het gevolg was van een slecht gediagnosticeerde middenoorontsteking.
Dit gebeurde in de jaren 50 want mijn zus is nu 69 en verblijft in Kerckstede, Oostnieuwkerke. Ik zelf ben 66 en ben daarmee opgegroeid en daar mijn hele leven mee geconfronteerd. Nu ben ik tevens bewindvoerder. Sedert 20 jaar schrijf ik gedichten en zo vond ik ook inspiratie bij mijn zus maar ook in onze familiale omgeving en in meerdere voorzieningen…
De gedichten zijn mede geschreven vanuit het besef dat ik als broer mijn eigen leven ben gegaan… en eigenlijk maar beperkt aandacht heb gehad."
