BOB of Ondersteuningstoeslag - waar heb ik recht op?

Via de zorgkas van je ziekenfonds kon je tot voor kort in aanmerking komen voor het zorgbudget voor mensen met een handicap, ook wel Basisondersteuningsbudget (BOB). Vanaf 1 januari 2023 werd het basisondersteuningsbudget (BOB) voor kinderen en jongeren tot 21 jaar echter omgevormd tot de ondersteuningstoeslag.

Deze ondersteuningstoeslag is onderdeel van het Groeipakket en vervangt dus het zorgbudget (ook wel BOB genoemd), dat voorheen via de Vlaamse Sociale Bescherming werd uitbetaald. Alleen bepaalde groepen blijven het budget ontvangen via deze laatstgenoemde instantie.

Wie heeft er recht op de ondersteuningstoeslag van het Groeipakket:

  • Kinderen en jongvolwassenen met minstens 12 punten op de schaal voor de zorgtoeslag voor kinderen met een specifieke ondersteuningsbehoefte (ofwel de verhoogde kinderbijslag);
  • Kinderen en jongeren die niet worden ondersteund door een multifunctioneel centrum (MFC) via niet-rechtstreeks toegankelijke hulp;
  • Kinderen en jongeren die geen Persoonlijke-assistentie Budget krijgen.

De uitbetaler van het Groeipakket bekijkt of je recht hebt en zo ja, wordt de toeslag automatisch toegekend door je uitbetaler Groeipakket. De ondersteuningstoeslag bedraagt 324 euro per maand.

Wie blijft recht houden op het zorgbudget voor mensen met een handicap?

Maakte je voor 31 december 2022 een vrijwillige overstap van de niet-rechtstreeks toegankelijke hulp en ontving je daarom een basisondersteuningsbudget (BOB), dan blijf je een BOB ontvangen van een zorgkas. Je kunt het BOB niet combineren met de ondersteuningstoeslag.

Ook de kinderen of jongeren, die een basisondersteuningsbudget kregen toegekend op basis van een integratietegemoetkoming van minstens 12 punten, blijven een BOB ontvangen.
