Actie 'Moeten we wachten tot in de doodkist?'
Moeten we wachten op onze ondersteuning tot we dood zijn?
Op vrijdag 17 november plaatsen mensen met een handicap doodskisten op het Martelaarsplein, waar de Vlaamse regering vergadert. De actievoerders klagen de uitzichtloze situatie van de wachtlijsten voor een budget voor ondersteuning aan. Moeten we wachten op onze ondersteuning tot we dood zijn?
STAN Trefpunt Verstandelijke Handicap en GiPSo steunen de actie "wachtlijsten tot in de doodskist"
Dit is de derde van een reeks maandelijkse acties van de Actiegroep Recht op Ondersteuning. Rode draad in alle acties zijn de 3 aapjes “horen, zien en zwijgen”. Toegepast op de wachtlijsten voor een ondersteuningsbudget: het beleid hoort ons niet, ziet ons niet, maar zwijgt en … doet niets om de wachtlijsten echt op te lossen. Met die aapjes zeggen ze ook: “We staan voor aap op de wachtlijst”.
De actievoerders vragen een echt recht op ondersteuning: na een erkenning door de overheid dat je een budget voor ondersteuning nodig hebt, moet je het ook meteen van diezelfde overheid krijgen.
De komende weken rond de Vlaamse Regering haar laatste begrotingsoefening af binnen deze legislatuur. Het is haar laatste kans om middelen vrij te maken om mensen die op de wachtlijst staan een persoonsvolgend budget te geven.
Praktisch:
- Wanneer: vrijdag 17 november tussen 11u en 13u.
- Waar: Martelaarsplein Brussel, voor het gebouw van de Vlaamse Regering.
Actievoerders verzamelen om 10.15u station Brussel Centraal, links van de loketten, bij de hoofduitgang.
- Om 10.30u wandelen / rollen we samen naar het Martelaarsplein. Dat duurt 10 min tot 15 min.

13u einde actie.
We bekijken samen of we ergens willen napraten. Sowieso kan je samen met anderen naar het station terugwandelen om 13u.
We roepen personen met een handicap op de wachtlijst en medestanders op om op vrijdag 17 november naar het Martelaarsplein te komen.
STAN, GiPSo en GRIP ondersteunen de actievoerders om hun stem te laten horen en op te komen voor het recht op ondersteuning.
